My pen will never run out of ink because God’s sovereignty is never without a message. The message I deliver to you is a world view that involves your very life(.)
Consider the following old poem/proverb (I do not know it’s origin):
For want of a nail the shoe was lost. For want of a shoe the horse was lost. For want of a horse the rider was lost. For want of a rider the message was lost. For want of a message the battle was lost. For want of a battle the kingdom was lost. And all for the want of a horseshoe nail....
For want of a measly nail a kingdom is lost??? I want to draw your attention to the importance of perspective in your current state of affairs. (This is only life changing if you let it.) You can wander through life with the perspective that your life is simply a happenstance, random occurrence, and a random luck of the draw that produced you. While this is what many will think, the fruit of this “tree” is only that of rotten behavior and a fatalistic outlook toward life, fellow human beings; producing selfishness that will seek the power to domineer over others. But what happens if you think opposite of this??? Think about it.
Maybe you simply do monotonous tasks day-in and day-out. (I personally work in manufacturing and sympathize with you.) But perspective is everything, always. These insignificant parts I clean belong to the Abrams Tanks, oil-field work, automotive industry, adventurous entrepreneurs, irrigation, farming, etc. So, while my tasking looks insignificant, I help put gas in your tank, food in your belly, and supply a military to protect your freedom. My contribution is more meaningful when I live like it.
Does this sound far-fetched? It works in the same ways like: pulling a spark plug from your engine and expecting performance, removing a gear and expecting a result. Or writing a sentence and leaving out the comma: Let’s eat grandma! Vs. Let’s eat, grandma! (The role/application matters.)
BACK TO YOU. What you do is a vital part to this society and a major contribution at some junction for another human being, institution, government, etc. What is the implication of this thinking on the vitality of socioeconomics, political agendas, and world view? EVERYTHING. People who recognize that they can make ripples in a pond disturb the waters enough to keep the surface from stagnation. But most importantly, one little stone in the pond ripples outward to affect a great many things! YOU ARE THAT STONE. YOU ARE THE BLACKSMITH THAT DOES HIS JOB OR NOT; AN AMERICAN WHO GETS VOCAL/ACTIVE OR NOT. Your life matters, your voice matters, your labors matter. (I get this view from the Bible! It’s why communism hates this book, it gives perspective other than they want you to believe.) Bonhoeffer, a German pastor during WWII—eventually becoming a martyr for trying to stop Hitler—says, “To say nothing is to say something; to do nothing is to do something.”
Live on purpose, talk on purpose, and make purposeful decisions; keeping in mind that your lot in life is not random. Your sphere of influence is much bigger than you ever thought possible and your job is only one category to your life! For the sake of a Nation that seems to be in its final moments—as the death rattle gets louder—the perspective that “YOUR LIFE CAN DISTURB THE POND” IS VITAL.
